The surgical team at Orange County Hair Restoration have a combined total of 50 years experience in the hair restoration specialty. Dr. Williams is the primary surgeon hair transplant specialist and enjoys the respect of his colleagues in the international society of hair surgeons. He is a Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.
Outside of the surgeon’s skill and expertise, surgical technicians play an instrumental role in the final outcome of hair restoration surgery. At OC Hair Restoration we are proud of our surgical team and the high degree of surgical care and attention given to our patients.
Dr Williams specialize in FUE harvesting technique, and he is active in teaching at workshops worldwide. Our office also performs strip harvesting for those patients who desire this harvesting technique. There are pros and cons for these two harvesting techniques that are reviewed with you by Dr. Williams at the initial consultation.
Hair restoration surgery is an office based procedure and performed under local anesthesia in our clean and modern surgical office environment. Our patients are usually relaxed and sedated for the entire surgical procedure, and enjoy typically a very professional and caring environment.
Careful attention is given to all steps of the donor harvesting process. Our office provides two harvesting methods- FUE and strip. Full and complete anesthesia or nerve blocks are used with tumescence so patients do not experience any pain during the procedure. Dr. Williams participates in all the critical quality steps in the hair surgical restoration process. He does not delegate any hair surgery to any technicians like so many surgeons practice. The hairline is designed by Dr. Williams with the patient’s approval and is not delegated to hair technicians. Dr. Williams recognizes the angle and direction of the follicles are important in the recipient site of the scalp to achieve a natural and aesthetic hairline. Our office places one-hair follicles in the front two rows of the hairline, followed by two-hair, three-hair, and four-hair follicles directly behind the frontal hairline to give you a full natural appearing hair line.

Expert Care and Natural Results
After your procedure, we see all patients the next day for scalp and graft evaluation, wound care, and shampoo. On a regular basis after the procedure, we encourage our patients to maintain oral medications, laser light therapy, and minoxidil to maintain a healthy hair density and full appearing scalp.
As is well known, typically transplanted hair is lost at about two (2) to four (4) weeks after the surgical procedure. This can be a disappointing time period for patients who just had surgery. Don’t be discouraged, though, because at approximately four (4) to twelve (12) months after your surgical procedure, the newly transplanted hair follicles goes through its normal hair cycle and new hair growth is seen.
