Adult Derived Stem Cell Therapy as a Non-Surgical Hair Loss Treatment

Dr. Ken L. Williams

The Irvine Institute of Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery-Orange County Hair Restoration offers a variety of hair loss treatments for hair loss in men and women. Our office is the first hair restoration facility on the west coast to offer stem cell therapy from cells that are derived from the fat cells of our adult patients. From the Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) of the extraction process, these stem cells are rich in mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors. Our medical director and founding surgeon, Dr. Ken Williams, offers our hair loss patients the most advanced FDA approved stem cell device for obtaining adult stem cells from the fat cells of patients.

The Irvine Institute of Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery-Orange County Hair Restoration is a medical and surgical hair restoration facility in Orange County, California. We are not a stem cell center that treats general and chronic medical or orthopedic conditions.

We specialize in hair loss and offer both surgical and non-surgical treatment to men and women who suffer from hair loss. In addition to providing non-surgical adult derived stem cells (ADSC), we also advocate proven medical therapies such as minoxidil, DHT blockers, Low Level Laser Light Therapy (LLLT), A Cell, and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

As not all patients and their hair loss condition are the same, it is important to consult with our physician if you are interested in starting a daily treatment program for hair growth that is right for you.

How Is It Done?

Men and Women with hair loss undergo the procedure in our office as an outpatient. Autologous stem cells from the patients own fat are used for the procedure. It is a safe and easy procedure to experience. First the patient undergoes a small procedure in which fat cells are removed from the abdomen or hip region under local anesthesia. The fat is then processed in a special device that separates out the stem cells from the fat. The stem cells are then injected in the scalp under local anesthesia.
